Rainy day, long downhill, had to be nibbles didn't it?
I don't expect Froome is going to kill himself on a wet downhill chasing Vincenzo when he knows he can beat him in the time trial.
Also picked Spilak and Tschopp. Had Talansky and Dennis since day 1.
I think Matthias Frank would do well but I'd have needed to take a pen to bring him in, then take a pen to take him out again tomorrow so didn't risk it
The way things have been going for me, if I started with a 30pt penalty I would end up getting a minus number.
Michal Kwiatkowski (OPQ)
Pirmin Lang (IAM)
Simon Spilak (KAT)
Andrew Talansky (GRS)
Tony Martin (OPQ)
Nathan Earle (SKY)
Johann Tschopp (IAM)
Damien Gaudin (ALM)
Martin Kohler (BMC)
Gone for;
Vincenzo Nibali
Jean-Christophe Peraud
Maxim Iglinskiy
Martin Kohler
Ion Izaguirre
Nino Schurter
Jesus Herrada Lopez
Andrew Talansky
Nathan Earle
Earle and Schurter are my 2 3.0 fillers, maybe a 5 pointer for Earle if Froome comes through.
Doing well in this one so spent a while mulling over the options - really enjoyed working out all the different permutations!
Had to decide whether to just use one penalty transfer and keep Kittel & Nizzolo for tomorrow, or use three pens in order to bring in two more climbers. Went with the latter, so starting today on minus 30...
Went Froome over Nibali more because I'd be keeping them til the end and expecting Froome to outscore Nibs over the three stages.
Leaves me with...
Froome, Spilak, Talansky, Frank
Tschopp, Zoidl
Kern, Gaudin, Hivert
More pens to come over the next 2 days methinks...
Similar, gone for Nibs and Peraud plus a couple of Movistar lads but no Froome. If it had finished on a peak it would be Froome for Nibs but looking at that downhill section to the line its made for Nibs.
