the guys at Pearsons come up trumps again, Guy and Will are top fellas.
The Bowery does look good for the price, but the lack of a carbon fork and guard/rack mounts puts me off.
Besides, aren't these SS things meant to be steel...?
until I saw this http://www.hargrovescycles.co.uk/products.asp?category=Bikes&product=Tri... and picked it up yesterday.
Going to use it for a bit of commuting and the local 40 min loop I usually do on my mtb
That's a great price. :-)
And a bit more flexible (usability) than the Bowery. I'll check who locally sells them....
I had a look around on the web and could not find anyone else giving a discount so I drove down and picked mine up at the Winchester branch. Nice guys and good deals.
Winchester's a tad far for me. ;-)
Think I'll stick with the Bowery and buy a set of clip-on guards and a 'beam' type rack with the ££s diff..
Thanks folks!
The Giant box landed this morning... just need to put it all together, :-)
I'll keep people updated with my findings and a log of rides on my blog.
Question for the masses: Should I fit the chain guard?
don't do it!
where's yr blog?
I'll put the build up and use on here:

(Nothing yet)
What's wrong with fitting the chainguard? Means you can ride in normal clothes without tucking one trouser leg into your sock. Hardly adds any weight either, and it'll protect your chain from the elements
Bikerboy..
You are absolutley correct.
But, alas I work in a suit so need to change/shower etc..
And I'm too damn lazy to strip the drive-train down to fit the mounting gubbins needed between the crank and frame.

Anything that makes your bike more 'jump on and go' has to be good. No?
Mundo, If I was after something like that I'd not have the Bowery... full guards, proper rack, hub gears (with chain guard), flat or riser bars and a more up-right position. The Bowery is a cheap A-2-B commuter machine with no frills and minimum fuss & comfort, but a lot of laughs and a BIG grin.
