Wow.

It would be nice to have an extra 1/2 hour at least because of this unique situation with two races running at the same time and the Giro's updating potentially interrupting any late transfers people might want to make... 39 Or, maybe wait until Cali starts before loading the Giro updates...

Not Like the scores are gunna change ...PRIORITIES... might give them more time to add them up properly actually.

I've put the deadline back. If anyone accidentally made changes for 5 instead of 4 I'll reassign them

What about the people who made their changes in time for the advertised deadline?

Their transfers were public for about half an hour by the look of it, and they also lost the opportunity to take advantage of any new information that emerged closer to the start of the stage.

I'm not sure how much of an affect it had today, but this sets a dangerous precedent for the future.

And at one stage I had decided to keep phinney and get Routley and Jon Clarke the Aussie before settling on Bolivar (who got LTR, I must have used early info for that one lol)
Imagine the UP ROAR if I had them in my side OMG 35

Can someone check yesterday's scoring too please?

Acevedo and Stetina should have both got 21 points shouldn't they?

Stetina has been changed to 21

Acevedo got 26, 20 for stage, 1 for GC, 5 for teammate bonus

I'm bemused by the posts above. The deadline is in 2 hours.

I agree, the TV coverage hasn't been great. Even aside from the annoying picture break-up, the direction of shots has been pretty bad. The lack of times at the end of the TT was very poor.

On the flip side, the app they've done for the race is excellent.

It should have been set to 7pm, considering there is still 4 hours still the stage starts. I don't know why it wasn't and Im majorly p*****d off right now

The picture disturbance I can live with. It happens in all races - a problem with relying on short-range line-of-sight transmission. The annoying thing is the directors choice of camera - following the wrong riders all the way round the TT course and ignoring most others, missing almost all of the top finishers on Mt Diablo etc. The TT was OK for 2/3 riders only. Yes, Brad was impressive up there but the lack of any attacks to respond to meant, as gkam recently tweeted, that we might as well have been watching a training ride - I don't recollect live coverage of Sky's training camps on Mt Teide but that's what it effectively was.
There aren't enough good riders to make much of this worth watching for more than about the last 5 minutes, a handful of stars, some fairly good Pro-Team B squad riders and a bunch of no-hope 3rd string locals who want to catch the eye of a Pro-Team but won't and probably don't even have passports.
The only thing to keep any interest is wondering which stage Jens will attack on and what kind of cookies he'll get at the end.

The TV coverage is poor, not just the picture quality, but the level of information too. The ticker during the TT would have been far more useful highlighting the times people had/leaderboard as opposed to 'notable riders' for 2 hours.

I usually really enjoy this race, but the picture disturbance has been really annoying, presumably caused by the high tree-line.

And Sherwen and Liggett, well they are just truly awful.

Its a shame, as the first stage was really exciting racing, the TT was good, and although yesterday wasn't really steep enough for too many attacks, it was still a good stage with Brad riding really well. But I haven't enjoyed watching any of them as much as I should have done.

Tomorrow or maybe stage 7 look likeliest but today could be a long shot.

I'm finding this race dull. It may be sour grapes because I'm not doing well and it's a race I've done OK in for the last two years but there doesn't seem to be more than about 5 minutes of action in any of the stages. The TV production is poor - long close-ups of Rohan Dennis gasping for breath while we miss the next 15-20 finishers, cuts to the laughing group because it's full of Americans, no times at the TT finish and ignore most of the finishers, follow Cav all the way round and ignore the 10 or so riders still ahead on the road.
And then there's Sherwin and Liggett - learn 3 phrases, 2 facts and 1 anecdote per stage (all slightly wrong) and repeat them ad nauseam. You could train a parrot to commentate better than them. It just has to say "have they used all their firepower", "they're burning their matches too soon" and "I'm surprised at that, he used to be a good time-triallist at junior level" perhaps along with "Sir Bradley Wiggins, Olympic gold-medallist etc..." and intersperse it with the odd squawk. Why TF does anybody on the planet still employ them?
