Time Trial

Well i switched out a couple i knew i could switch again after today, so wasn't a huge risk, Cataldo let me down aswell

Contador Scarponi Millar Porte Cataldo Rujano Sivtsov Wilson

Yeah, my bad. I had Bertie, Scarponi, Rujano, Pinotti and Kruijskwick (sp?) for the stage, with Nieve bringing in some GC and Verde points and Wilson for the Lanterne Rouge.
Only Cataldo let me down today.

Pinotti came in 5th, so did well in a climber's paradise.

Yeh this time trial is for the ones that can climb. But all rounders pinotti came in 25th, and porte 17th last year, ive gone for arroyo (16th last year). However neither seem on form, especially porte. Miller didnt race however if you were to say he is a similar time trialist to wiggins, he came 67th.

All in all contador should have this in the bag, and time trial and climb, and has the legs on everyone

I'm not sure how "vanilla" time trial specialists such as Millar, Pinotti etc will deal with the particular demands of a mountain TT. The last two Giro mountain TTs (see my earlier post up-thread) weren't exactly bulging with straight TT'ers, more climbers and GC contenders, which suggests to me that it's the ability to climb, rather that time trial, that will come in more useful here.

Quote from Garzelli on the Gazzetta Giro website after Sunday's Queen stage:

"It was quite an undertaking! The only one to arrive in front of me was a young racer who is a great climber. I had this stage on my mind along with the Nevegal (on Tuesday, editor's note). Try it again? I don't think I have any energy left after today..."

So, does that means he wouldn't want to try Sunday's stage again, or that he's too pooped to give it a go in the Mountain ITT?

Well as above, you have in those 2 lists most of the top riders in this years Giro, but before making transfers i'm waiting till tomorrow night

I have a feeling one or two have killed themselves over the last couple of days and even a rest day wont help, could be seeing a couple decent riders leave to get ready for the TDF now they have no chance of winning the Giro

With only the top 11 being within 10 minutes of the lead, i can see some outwith that thinking, no thank you, the only flat stage is the final one and the rest still have serious climbs
