My stars to come in are Wiggins and Taaramae, although to be fair the original plan was Hesjedal and if I'd switched my stars yesterday it would probably have been Wiggins and Chavanel.
So Wiggins and Chavanel(43pts) for Sagan/Greipel(21pts) would have been a net gain of 22.
My actual transfers of Pinot and Westra(8pts)for Cooke and Impey(6pts) was a net gain of 2.
That's 20 pts I need to make up but I've got a good feeling about today with Morkov/Westra/Pinot for breaks and Wiggo,Taaramae,Rogers and Tejay for GC/finish pts.
Wiggins
Taaramae
Rojers
Van Garderen
Pinot
Westra
Morkov
Cantwell
Boeckmans
2 DS transfers tomorrow to bring in a couple of TT'ers for Cantwell and Boeckmans(the likes of Lancaster/Grivko etc).
well your scored more than me and i did sort my stars!! think i got unlucky with bringing in JVDB though as i think he would have been higher up had it not been for the mechanical.
My team now looks like this
Wiggins
Chavanel
Rogers
Moncoutie
Casar
Izagirre
Zabriske
Lancaster
Edet
Absolutely shelled out the back today.Paid the price for sorting out my DS' before the stars this weekend.
48pts,2490th on the stage, dropped from 3rd to 13th overall TDF and 1st to 7th premium TDF
I feel like the 'Chavanel' of the Fantasy world.
Big guns to come in for stage 8 replacing Greipel/Sagan and,at least fiddling around with DS' saved me from my plan of bringing Hesjedal in.
I'll kick myself though if Hoogerland,Moncoutie,Roux or Casar get in a break.
Another disappointing stage for me, but I was expecting it. I'm a bit more confident about my next attempt though. (Cue lots of crashes tomorrow).
well i think my points today were stolen by webfusion......
sagan (for green jersey and sprint points)
rui costa (cheap and promises much)
sam sanchez
jelle vanendert
kiverlovski
urtasun
morkov
bernaudeau
boeckmans
other than kiverlovski, my DS's are what I am left with after the sprints.
Thought about keeping Sagan in for intermediate sprints but I'm going to need those credits...
Evans
Nibali
Velits
Rui Costa
Simon
Morkov
Gallopin
Izagirre
Bernaudeau
Izagirre was in because he's cheap and I have a soft spot for Euskaltel, but he's something like 4th in the young rider competition and might move up over the next couple of days... then Velits, Rui Costa, Morkov out for some TT specialists. Probably.
This is my team which I was quite confident about until 30km from the end of today's stage.
Mollema
Poels
Valverde
Rolland
Pinot
Izagirre
Astarloza
Kiserlovski
Bernaudeau
I'll probably make a couple of transfers before tomorrow.
Made a mess of my transfers over the flat stages so only had 3 for this stage.
Switched to the following;
Bradley Wiggins
Tejay van Garderen
Peter Sagan
Tom Veelers
Maxim Iglinsky
Mikel Astarloza
Daryl Impey
Jerome Pineau
Jonathan Cantwell.
Will get rid of Sagan for the tt and one of my ds / veelers.
Hmmm, seems I've gone down a completely different route to most, not sure if that's a good thing or not...
Evans
Van Garderen
Roche
Sagan
Lancaster
Bernaudeau
Cantwell
Boeckmans
Westra
Evans may or may not have a pop at this one but i'll need him for monday's TT, TVG should do okay on that too. hoping roche has a go, westra too. the others are leftovers from the flat stuff, maybe lancaster or boeckmans will hang on for intermediate points. sagan certainly will
i've gone a bit more radical as i need to try and get mega pts. So it's . . .
Tejay van Garderen (BMC)
Peter Sagan (LIQ)
Denis Menchov (KAT)
David Moncoutie (COF)
Kris Boeckmans (VCD)
Gorka Izagirre (EUS)
Sylvester Szmyd (LIQ)
Jonathan Cantwell (SAX)
Michael Morkov (SAX)
may as well tell you my team as ive already done my transfers
Sagan
JVDB
Rogers
Chavanel
Casar
Edet
Izagirre
Lancaster
Zabriske
I'm not so sure, I think Sky will try to keep the pace high, but I wouldn't be surprised if Evans attacks, in which case Brad might have to follow. I wanted Brad for the TT anyway so thought I may as well bring him in early for fairly sure GC points if nothing else. The risks have come elsewhere... Got extremely lucky today with 1,2,3,4 so am up into the top 50 and trying to balance risky break guys with a couple of reliable picks. (And only have 8 for the next day or two as decided not to replace Astarloza - could've brought in Izagirre or someone but I wanted to get rid of all my star sprinters instead).
Well I think TJ might do ok . . . it's not too long . . . but steep . . . tempted by Cobo but its too short a climb. . . tempted by Kruijswijk but he's not in top 20 . . . Nibali will bide his time waitinf for a downhill finish...PG is possible . . . but i hope i strike lucky with a breakaway.
Cadel Evans could have a go at trying to claw back some time from Wiggins tomorrow, apparently it's not the kind of constant gradient Wiggins likes so there could be a chance for Evans.
I've loaded my team for breakaways, got three climbing stars and Sagan and a load of breakaways DSs plus Boeckmans who I can't get rid of
