2,3,5,8,18 for me. Quite happy with that.
1,2,3,8 for standard. 1,2,3,8,10,13 for purist. Deignan in today was probably a good move. Schleck, less so.
TOP 20 ON THE STAGE.

4 FRANK, Mathias
5 ROGERS, Michael
6 HAGA, Chad
7 BUSCHE, Matthew
8 MANCEBO PEREZ, Francisco
9 CRADDOCK, Lawson
10 MEYER, Cameron
11 DE MAAR, Marc
12 JENKINS, Max
13 EUSER, Lucas
14 ENGLISH, Nathaniel
15 GAIMON, Phillip
16 MORTON, Lachlan David
17 BALDWIN, Christopher
18 KONIG, Leopold
19 DIDIER, Laurent
20 BUTLER, Chris
Did anybody else find that uncomfortable viewing? A long stage with a 25% finishing climb in 44 degree heat.
I'm all for tough racing, but in my opinion that crossed the line of what's acceptable.
With 10 minutes covering the first 30 or so riders. You are going to be luck to have half the peloton in within the time limit......This could be a scrapped stage for timing after place 50 or so.
Plus riders lying at the side of the road totally out of it.....
117 finishers inside the time cut according to PCS including Serry.
Vancansoleil down 3 riders 1 DNF and 2 outside time limit.
The same idiot who had to cancel stages because of snow last year and the year before....
You know its BAD, when almost every rider has a different time gap
Cantwell finished today, but is OUT, suspected broken ribs and what a mess his leg is in https://twitter.com/J_Cantwell/status/334091522809135104/photo/1/large
That was not pleasant to watch at the end. It looked dangerous to there health. I hope everyone makes a full recovery and is able to race tomorrow.
I can't see it, I think there will be a number of DNS tomorrow.
You will still easily outscore me!
Wow, I think you'll be miles ahead in both overall competitions.
Agreed
It shows when over half the top 20 are either American or regulary race in America, how tough it was, As tough as the climb was I can't imagine Westra having lost 8 minutes had that been in europe
110 riders inside the limit at the moment (22 mins down) including the main protagonists for the flat stages, Sagan, Meersman, Matthews.
Thought it probably was.
Which idiot thought it was a good idea to hold a bike race in the desert in the middle of May?
Why has there been no protest from the teams or riders?
It was shocking to see the state Pieter Serry was in. Sport is meant to be entertainment. See riders risk their health is not fun to watch.
Defo ruing my Gilbert gamble now! I didn't get the memo on bringing in Deignan either
Cheers for blowing my purist team out of the water too!
I looked at your team and thought damn he scored more than me even taking a penalty! In fact I've realised a bit late that the penalty point strategy is the best one. Took a few hits in the Giro and they worked out and got me back into a semi-respectable position. Will be using it again but wasn't thinking about it two nights ago. Wasn't sure about TJ either but should have had Acevedo as I'd read about him in Cycling News but forgot his name. Race more interesting than last year but climbing talent is not so strong. Painful to watch at times as well.
It is a good strategy, but I don't think it was the right one for this race. My purist team is currently doing better than my standard team, and today I'll just be bringing in riders who I got rid of yesterday (possibly for more penalty points). Conclusion - it would've been better to do a bit more forward planning.
30k left and the gap is 4.15.
They look like they are putting ice packs down their tops to combat the heat.
Busche and Mancebo might get you something, but its only going to be the big guys up the last climb I think after this heat
Got Chavanel but he won't get many points. Otherwise got Sagan Meersman Meyer Busche Mancebo Westra Deignan Dempster
You have NO chance with Gilbert, he's the water boy again
Fair enough I took a risk, was gonna bring Tejay in but that would have messed me up for tomorrow. Think Westra, Mancebo and Avecedo should all be up there for me
40k left gap at 5.55, they aren't bringing it back very quickly and are running out of road.
Steep climb at the end though.
Same team for me as yesterday, hoping for a gilbert/Avecedo 1-2
Westre off the back, obviously had a problem. Trying to get back on but the peloton are hammering it and he's struggling at the mo.
My purist team is screwed over again. Marczynski out
50k to go gap at 6.10.
Watching it on the Amgen website, the road they are on looks bloody brilliant, oh for downhill stretches like that over here.
