This is ridiculous...they should be racing....the road surface is perfectly ok...
Tend to agree.
Yesterday, we couldn't watch the race. Today, it's neutralized. If this was any other sport....
This neutralisation seems to be lasting forever. May last even longer if there's ice on the descent, as rumour has it.
after long negotiations with French authorities it has been agreed that the stage will finish at the Pantani monument, 10km further up the Galibier, at an altitude of 2,295m. The Pantani monument marks the spot where Italian rider attacked in the rain to secure victory in the 1998 Tour de France.
Weather update: At the stage start (Cesana Torinese, km 0), 8 degrees Celsius, sunshine, some cloud. On Col du Mont Cenis (km 58), 1 degree Celsius, perhaps snow. At Valloire (km 131), 8 degrees Celsius, perhaps rain. Les Verneys (km 134), 2 degrees Celsius, perhaps snow.
That's also the last I heard.
My team:
Cadel Evans (BMC)
Vicenzo Nibali (AST)
Domenico Pozzovivo (ALM)
Stefano Pirazzi (BVI)
Carlos Alberto Betancur (ALM)
Mauro Santambrogio (VIN)
Robinson Eduardo Chalapud (COL)
Franco Pellizotti (AND)
Danilo Di Luca (VIN)
Still have Weening so hoping he'll be my ace in the pack today or Tues. The rest is boring and obvious...
Pirazzi
Nibbly
Santambrogglio
Evans
DiLuca
Weening
Betancur
Majic Majka
Sammy (I miss his golden helmet)
Anyone know what the latest is re the route? Last I heard was finish at the Pantani monument, miss the first KOM but still go over the Telegraphe - any change?
Took a gamble, dumped Evans so I could go Pozzovivo and Pirazzi, hence
Nibbles, Uran and the seven dwarfs
betsi
pelli
pozzi
Pirrazi
majjy
santi
and doppi.
always planned to bring Sammy Sanchez in today but think after yesterday, a few more might too!
Swapped Di Luca for Garzelli, wanted to change chalapud but who else is there for small points?
Cadel Evans (BMC)
Rafal Majka (SAX)
Rigoberto Uran (SKY)
Vicenzo Nibali (AST)
Carlos Alberto Betancur (ALM)
Stefano Garzelli (VIN)
Mauro Santambrogio (VIN)
Samuel Sanchez (EUS)
Robinson Eduardo Chalapud (COL)
Nibali
Evans
Uran
Santambrogio
Betancur
Majka
Pirazzi
Garzelli
Chalapud
No changes so 6 for Tuesday. Wanted to bring in Pantano but couldn't afford a straight swap for Chalapud and didn't really want to drop any of my other riders.
Same as Chris, I will have 5 transfers for Tuesday. But not sure how to play tuesday.
Made one change today, the logical one of Pellizotti for Battaglin, leaves this
Nibali
Santambrogio
Evans
Uran
Betancur
Niemiec
Majka
Pellizotti
Di Luca
If Nibali is as strong as I think he is....He will wrap up the Giro today...
That look behind at the finishing line yesterday sort of said, 'Rigo,Chuckles,Carlos,Michele' ,Where are you ???
I want to drop Chalapud today seeing as he crashed yesterday and if the rumours are correct and the climb of Mont Cenis is neutralised then I'd consider dropping Pirazzi too but I don't know what's going to happen.
Nibali let Santambrogio take the stage yesterday so he's not fighting for bonus time too much so a break might stay away but also its a finish in France so I fancy one of the AG2R boys to win.
This race is just too unpredictable.
I took out Gesink for Scarponi.....Italian win today at the Pantani monument methinks?
Nibali
Scarponi
Santambrogio
Pirazzi
J-Rod II
Betancur
Chalapud
Uran
Majka
Nice green arrows yesterday and now #1 overall and the only 10k badge in London!!
Perhaps, but a different Italian. One riding for a French team, aiming for a win on French soil: Pozzovivo. Or...a former team mate and friend of Pantani: Garzelli.
Should be a good one.
I'm leaving mine as is giving me 6 transfers for Tuesday. Couple of riders who could feature but don't wanna rock the boat with my team after a good few days
Not seen any updates yet for today so just brought in Sammy for Atapuma. Whatever happens happens and I'll have 5 transfers for Tuesday...
I quite like Adam Hansen's thoughts on this. At least it would be easy to televise :-
@HansenAdam
Whats the goss out there for 2morrows stage? I heard they changed it 2 a 50km Crit in the hotel basement carpark? #BonusSecEvery5laps #We♡It
Thats ok then, 1 change for me then I think
i'm glad to hear that. With the cricket on sky and a Giro cancellation i would have been completely lost tomorrow.
