Wow. At least he's been asked to get some treatment. And buy the court a round of (cheap) drinks.
(Note he walked 4 hours home so forget about blood tests). I can see I'm trying to sell bridges to the wrong people - I should be going after prosecutors!
Cosmic background radiation caused the collision?
Well that's a silly place for that sign, you can barely see it over a crashed truck! Plus the bridge is wearing the bare minimum of high-vis.
And why did they bother taking an aggravated vehicle? I'd go for a nice calm one instead.
Bingo time! Bollards:
- cause accidents
- so cause delays
- so cause pollution
- stop the emergency services getting through
- AND we're paying thousands for them from our road tax! At a time like this. Madness!
A429 crash in Wiltshire left car stuck in bushes

Looks like they built that traffic light pole out of stronger stuff than normal.
Tesla, so it could actually have been driving itself.
Been there, done, that, Farnsfield. Welcome to the site, but you'll need to be much quicker off the mark next time!
Having a look at the OS map of Dover to better understand its traffic problems, I note that not only is there a Maison Dieu Road (in the KO article) but they also have a Louis Bleriot memorial. Why don't they go the whole hog and declare themselves, Pimlico style, to be an exclave of France?
On the other hand, vis Brexit, they do have a local landmark called the 'Grand Shaft'.
Ah, Manningtree, where drivers can save a few vital seconds when the level crossing barriers are down by taking the underpass.
Fake speed van - bear with me, there is a CCIB connection:
"The video then cuts to an image of a crashed car in his front garden. Rob explained a speeding driver had once lost control of their vehicle and ended up on his property."
Interestingly, the police don't seem too concerned.

Clickbait time:
"Drivers could be fined £1000 asking for change at a car park"
A old law could land you with a large fine
There seems to have been a run of these "drivers could be fined under-little known law", articles, each more improbable than the last.
Rocketing fuel prices spark number plate theft epidemic
My guess would be that as those Audi A.3s don't run on air, this is a lot to do with the local drugs gangs trying to keep overheads down. But if/when things get tighter for people, I wonder what new trends in this kind of thing there will be.
That's a high street outlet.
Not a drivethrough!
I didn't think that modern cars could fit in one of those old style garages.
I stand corrected, all it needs was a little lateral thinking...
Looking at the pic in the cul-de-sac, looks to me that the car could have been on the road next to the cul-de-sac, maybe being drive a bit too fast.
Feel free to prang your car and have a sit in our garden.
Perhaps it's the beginning of a new universe of self-driving cars
A few more in that issue !

Lucky it was not a ksi for a pedestrian.
The local MP seems pretty quiet on all of this - this is all I could find on a quick search from her. Would you not be shouting from the rooftops about this?
The sense that govt is confused and conflicted about how to respond and how to treat the company persists. Admitting you have a problem is the first step to solving it.
Stack used happen pre Brexit but it lasted 2-3 days, not 3 weeks, IIRC..
https://www.inyourarea.co.uk/news/natalie-elphicke-dover-column-for-week...
The M20 stack is still there this morning, shrinking a bit, from Leeds Castle down to Ashford. That moveable feast, known as when P&O will start sailing again is now Good Friday.
Other lorry ro-ro ports are available, aren't they?
I too pondered that possibility but the report definitely cited the smaller road and the street view grab was also from there.
Meanwhile in ambulance land...
https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/ambulance-forced-wai...
totally grinds my gears that we have to task ambulance crews to pick the pieces up after idiots like this have broken their toys.
"Midlands hospital bosses have said they are facing 'very serious' and 'unprecedented' challenges as ambulances face huge delays to handover patients. West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) has revealed one of its ambulances was forced to wait nearly 14 hours outside Worcestershire Royal Hospital on Monday (April 4)."
You wonder why she is quiet? She voted against ending Fire/Rehire practices so wasn't accepted too well at one of the early demos after the P&O debacle.
But, we were told it was over.
And people were just bored of it...
Really not a good time to be hit by a motor vehicle (is there ever...)
Or have a heart attack. (Same)
Bigger issues as always but one irritation is that the rhetoric is exactly the opposite of the truth. Short version: "cyclists and cycle lanes block ambulances AND waste medical resources by getting themselves injured via their dangerous recreational pasttime". More nuanced version: if you can get enough infra in to get genuine mass cycling that can actually remove motor traffic (cycling is more space-efficient). That will help get the ambulances through. It may be possible for an emergency vehicle to use a footway / cycle lane to get round a blockage. Car crashes are a major source of hospital admissions. We've recently noticed that particulate pollution from cars is a significant source of harm. Finally the overall sums say getting people out of cars and into active transport has significant physical and mental health benefits.
But "can't get through... cycle lanes cause congestion and pollution"... (I do appreciate there are some thoughtful local arguments about the latter - but even then it just ain't the bikes doing the emitting).
I was working at a hospital in Kent when the 2020 lockdown started - I remember a comment that there were hardly any trauma cases coming in (people stayed away from hospital in their droves at the time) because there was less driving and less crashes. I don't know any detail, but I agree with you an awful lot of trauma work must arise from car crashes.
I think may just have been a radio - or rather mobile phone - transient?
Fenton! Come back! FENTON! Oh no, he's only gone and hit the bollard!
^ This is how I picture the scene as Mr Hunt's company car makes an ill-fated bid for freedom while Mr Hunt is innocently on his way to work.
"....the elderly woman behind the wheel does not remember anything from the incident.
The driver smashed the vehicle through the store but managed to survive without suffering any injuries."
https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/elderly-woman-hospitalis...
I hope the blind dog got out OK.
