Youngsters are being invited to submit their designs for bike parking facilities to help put the finishing touch to a £7.2 million redevelopment of a theatre in Oxford.
The Peasus Theatre on Magdalen Road, East Oxford, has organised a competition called Rack Your Brain? that invites children and youths aged between six and to put forward their ideas, and the winner will see their design transformed into reality with it being used in the finished development.
Organisers say, “there’s no reason why a bike rack needs to look like a bike rack, so if you’re aged 6-19 let your imagination run wild and show us what you can do. Don’t worry about how to make it – we’ll sort that out.”
They add that contestants should “think sculpture, think crazy, think unusual, think amazing,” and participants are encouraged to “put it on paper however you like. Don’t worry about making it perfect, just make it you.”
Entry forms can be downloaded from the Pegasus Theatre website, and additional materials are available by emailing the theatre, or calling on 01865 792209.
The closing date is Monday 8 February 2010, and entries should be sent to Katherine Proudlove, Pegasus Theatre, 7 Newtec Place, Magdalen Road, Oxford, OX4 1RE. Entrants are reminded to include their names and to have their submissions signed by a parent or guardian.
Full terms and conditions can be found here.

what. apart from the being able to lock your frame to it aspect?
Oh god: they'll do it wrong. They'll think toastracks are useful or they'll put the stands too close together.
