Kurt Kinetic turbo schwag - we have a winner!

Boost your winter training with our amazing prize package...

Tiffin's a bit of a grand word for our afternoon repast today – a couple of digestive biscuits and a strong coffee – but that caffeine has given us the kick we need to fire up the randonometer at www.random.org and point the fickle finger of fate at one of you lucky people. And which of you lucky people is the one that's actually lucky?

It's you, Russell Cox!

Yup, Russ is our winner this time around (if that's his real name of course) and he walks away with a tidy turbo and a heap of accessories, the lucky chap. If he is a chap. Sorry if you missed out this time but hey, that's random for you. There will be another schwag grab along on the heels of this one though, don't worry. What'll it be, you ask? Just wait and see...*

*Suspense may indicate prize of greater value than that actually available**

**Then again, it might not.

---------------------------------

Well if the last schwag grab was all about stuff to get you out on your bike despite the cold snap, this one is firmly of the opinion that you're better off indoors. We've teamed up with the chaps at Chocolate Distribution to give away a turbo trainer and accessories worth over £450!

We've just reviewed the Kurt Kinetic Road Machine turbo trainer; it's the second one we've tried from the American outfit and we've very much liked them both for the ride feel and quality of build. Tester mat described the Road Machine as a turbo that's "built to last, and the consistent resistance means you can get repeatable results". It uses a magnetic coupling to the resistance unit so there aren't any seals to wear out, and it comes with an unconditional lifetime warranty.

That's £300 of turbo right there, but that's not all. On top of that we've got a Kurt Kinetic wireless computer to give away. The resistance unit of the Road Machine gives such repeatable results that Kurt have devised a computer that calculates your power from the speed of the rear wheel. You can go outdoors with it too and use all the other myriad functions on the tarmac. You get an HRM strap and a cadence sensor too. Look out for a test of the computer on road.cc soon, it retails for £99.99.

But wait! That's not it. As well as the turbo and the computer we've also got a Kurt Kinetic mat to soak up the vibrations and keep your sweat off the carpet, and a riser for the front wheel. All in all you'd have to fork out £457.96 for all that gear, we reckon, although we're not so good with the adding and that.

It's a fantastic prize fund so get yourself entered. Just comment on the story below to get yourself in the hat. Usual schwag grab rules apply, the fickle finger of fate will be doing its pointy thing around tiffin time, next Thursday (9 December). Good luck!

Well just sitting here looking at the snow & ice outside and feeling frustrated that I can't ride. The Kinetic pack fits the bill and won't damage the wife's beloved lounge carpet with smelly sweat!http://road.cc/sites/all/modules/smileys/packs/Yahoo!/surprise.gif

It's raining today; after a week of snow and ice - I would promise to thrash myself every day on this to build a base for the etape act 1 next year. I'm entered but can't train!! 20
