I love the turbo in Winter or when raining for weeks on end.
Get soem training DVDs or footage from other country and play your fave music!
Come, the night is calling and as for resistance training....
Time away 047.jpg
I have only been turboing a week and I recokon it wont be long before the trainers are out and I am running.
I think I am in the small minority in the cycling world, that actually perversely enjoy turbo training.
2 x 20's and 6 x 4's being my staple diet, they hurt, but the payback is high for just an hour of effort which includes warm up and down.
The key is a really good fan, not a domestic grade one, you really need something commercial grade. The one I have makes my eyes water on the lowest setting, but I can go flat out and still hardly have a drop of sweat.
This is the one I use - Honeywell 18" Fan
Overheating can really limit your performance and ultimately the benefit you will get from turbo training.
i was pasta-ing out for Sundays (shhhh, mountainbike, shhhh) race at Thetford
porking the night before a race wastes valuable energy
Did you go Jo?
Or were you porking out? http://road.cc/content/blog/10583-ride-pork
you just missed one Dave, Rollapaluza "Muddy Hell" Night Cross at Herne Hill last Saturday, plenty of time to train for the next one i guess
night time 'cross? bring it on. are there many (any) night 'cross races?
Anyway, soon Dave'll have his 'cross bike, whack on some lights and it's night time cross round the Tumps. That'll sharpen the old handling skills
dont do it, get yer running daps out and go round the park for 20/30 mins...
if there's one thing i dislike more than turbo training, it's running...
I'm just about to go and suffer the pain of 2 x 20 @ 300W's so I feel your pain...
