Was it him?

Morning all. This is version 2 of today's blog. I am not sure whether it is my browser or the Road.cc site to blame but for some reason as I was merrily typing the post my screen switched to the recent I-Phone headset article.

Work lost. Lesson learned. This post originated in Open Office text!

It has been a great weekend. My mixed training for the winter has started in earnest and I am now running round the village a couple of times a week. I remember it being tough last winter but as I am nearly a stone lighter this year I am hoping to see better results when mixed with a proper organised programme on the turbo.

This turbo activity will feature the Sufferfest heavily (new ones to come soon) and if you are still bimbling along on your indoor trainer and not using the internet to help you now is the time to click the link and look it up. Once the pain is over you will not regret it.

Sunday was the only day I got out on the bike and the usual Fenland weather played havoc with the wind direction changing in a matter of minutes leaving me to battle a strong breeze for 8 virtually straight miles home. You would think that (a) after all these years I would know better than to trust it and (b) that I would find some more interesting roads... And you would be right on both counts.

I was that tired when I got back that not even the news that the Road.cc t-shirts were now available (and in manly pink !!) could cheer me up. Sorry guys!

The most cycletastic piece of action this weekend occurred on the missus to be and my trip to London on Saturday. We took in Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Picadilly Circus, Regent Street, Carnaby Street and the Embankment. We even ate at London's trendy Texas Embassy, although Lance Armstrong didn't make an appearance.

It was the stream of folding bikes making their way over Westminster Bridge as we strolled over in the lovely afternoon sunshine that attracted my attention, and the face that loads of people speaking Spanish had cameras poised.

It was then that former Vuelta winner Roberto Heras went past on a folding bike to applause and cheering!

Having read in the cycling press that he does a bit of riding on a folding my mind computed straight away and I double checked to make sure it was him. He looked as lean as the days he paced Lance up alps. Before that the only celeb spotting we had done was seeing Karen Brady near Holborn.

Brilliant, I am all the way through today's update and the pc hasn't................
