The Wiggle Forest Ranger Sportive offers beautiful, undulating English countryside on a ride that will take you through the best and most scenic parts of East Staffordshire and Leicestershire counties, also encapsulating the most enticing cycling roads around The National Forest.
Please note that the routes for this event are currently being plotted. The distances advertised are what we are aiming to achieve but they may vary by a couple of miles. We will announce via our newsletter (sign up at the foot of this page), Facebook and Twitterwhen the new routes are live.
Starting from Uttoxeter Racecourse, the course heads south, circumnavigating Blithfield Reservoir to Abbots Bromley, where the route moves west to enter the National Forest at Newborough.
Working the way west to Barton-under-Needwood, Short riders head north and split at this point, while Standard and Epic riders bear south, winding the way through the quiet and tranquil country lanes that last until the outskirts of Twycross are reached.
Next, it’s onto Measham for the second split of the day. Standard riders will go out eastwards while Epic riders go south for a loop that takes in the sleepy towns of Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Moira among others, before rejoining the rest of the course at Netherseal.
From here the course heads back east and into Barton-under-Needwood once again, where the sportive ventures north through the Needwood Forest, finally leaving the National Forest at Marchington for the final leg back to ride HQ, where a finisher’s medal and t-shirt wait for you on crossing the line.
