Get the date in your diary... It's MRC's BIG RED RIDE 2020.

Those who have ridden the event before will need no introduction to the Big Red Ride.
For those yet to sample its delights... it's probably one of the area's biggest mass participation bike rides - its not a race - not a sportive - not a charity ride - or a time trial or clubrun... it's a reliability trial, something that has been popular with clubs and individuals since the fifties.
Riders set off in groups of differing abilities with the aim of completing the pre-determined route within specified times - thus proving if they are 'reliable' or not.... Simple really.
The BRR has something for everyone - a steady ride for those who want a leisurely ride through some of north Nottinghamshire's best cycling roads; an intermediate ride for those who want to step the pace but still want to be able to breathe enough for a chat en-route or; a downright leg-breaking challenge (it's not race.).
There will as usual be the choice of a long, medium or short route. This year's routes will be new and exciting and you will be able to download copies of the routes once entered online.
Everyone is welcome to come along and join-in, individuals, clubs or teams. Any type of bike and any ability level.
The event headquarters will be the John Fretwell Sporting Complex, Sookholme Road, Sookholme, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, NG19 8LL, where ample safe parking & changing rooms will be available. There will also be food and drink available to purchase before and after the event.
The routes are a real tour of some of the districts nicest and enjoyable cycling roads and lanes, passing through some really beautiful countryside.
It's a cycling challenge with something for everyone so please spread the word and lets have a day to remember - with all riders finishing wearing a smile and wanting to come back for more...
Well, it's symbolic isn't it?
To be fair to the marketers : ) .. "gravel" as a term came from the races in the USA that were set up by the riders who did this stuff, the bike...
Double yellow lines to be reintroduced around Faversham Guildhall and Market Place to ‘protect’ views of town’s historic landmarks and character...
Well, there's lifetime bans and there's lifetime bans. Banning an 88 year old don't impress me much.
I think that is why blind eyes have been turned in the UK, internationally aswell, with things like the Redhook crits, there were many licensed...
Ahem - other esporters(?) might be rather surprised to hear that the UCI has taken over their events - I think that would be the Cycling Esports...
I wonder how he got to the game?
You'd need some good wet weather gear for that ride too.
It seems to me that the most likely explanation is that whoever provided that quote fails to grasp the difference between a "public right of way"...
