Sample Itineray of the Training Camp week:
Saturday – Transfer Day
Transfer from airport to our base. A mechanic will be on hand to help you assemble your bike. A short ride may be possible depending on timings. In the evening we will have a get to know us meeting just before dinner to explain how the week will work.
Sunday
Today’s ride will be a general ride through the rolling terrain through typical Italian countryside. It will provide a gradual introduction to riding before the more demanding rides to come in subsequent days. The focus will be on building steady endurance and practicing group riding skills. The Group will cover distances ranging from 95 to 120km, with the possibility of a cafe stop.
Monday
After riding along a nice valley road to get warmed up, our first foray into the hills will feature some long steady climbing, this will also include some smooth curving descents which will sharpen up those bike handling skills. 80 – 120km route.
Tuesday
Today is a climbers and mountains day covering some classic climbs of the region. We will finish off the ride with a fast paced flat section to clear out that lactic in the legs, 85 – 120 km route
Wednesday
This is can be a rest day after the hard ride the previous day, but we will offer a short recuperation ride to allow the body to recover, no more than a steady 50km.
Thursday
Today is a big day and offers the opportunity to get 150km ride under your belt, with a couple of major climbs thrown in as well.
Friday
Today we can have a real treat, firstly we will do a long steady rolling hills ride, once this is finished we will refuel before getting on the bikes again for a local Italian group ride, all the weeks training will come to the fore for this.
Saturday – Transfer Day
A mechanic will be on hand to help you dis-assemble your bike. Transfer to the airport. Depending on departures there could be time for some short ride.
#Please note all rides are subject to weather conditions, and there can be alterations at any time for safety reasons.
