When an idea's time has come nothing can stop it as the iPayRoadTax campaign has shown. Exactly a week after the initial Tweet that inspired Carlton Reid he has signed a partnership deal with Foska.com to produde the iPayRoadTax jersey. Foska will now take on the task of producing the jersey and selling it, leaving Carlton to concentrate on spreading awareness of the campaign – earlier today he posted some video of a driver shouting at a cyclist to “buy some road tax”.
“This is why the campaign was started; we've all been on the receiving end of such misinformed opinions. So, thanks for your faith in my fledgling idea. I'm chuffed to bits that the iPayRoadTax jerseys and armwarmers will get out there and start spreading the message that cyclists have every right to be on the road,” Carlton told road.cc.
In an email to all those who have already pre-ordered the jersey Carlton explained that the level of interest has proved over-whelming:
“This was created on Friday 13th, exactly a week ago. It's snowballed faster than I could have ever imagined. Interest in the jerseys has been so great I knew I'd struggle to meet demand so, yesterday, I signed a partnership agreement with Foska.com.
“Everything will be sold via Foska.com and by bike shops, enabling me to concentrate on the website and campaign rather than make, bag and ship a ton of jerseys.
“Foska will take the tax disc graphic and turn it into a great looking jersey and this will go online within the next 7-10 days. You'll be able to pay and pre-order the jersey, or drop in an email request for a reminder when product has landed.
“Producing the jersey will take time. We've got to produce the design, agree on wording, get in samples, and then put in a first order. I would have loved to have had product available before Christmas but, then, I'm not a manufacturer and have little appreciation of the graft that goes into a big production line like this.
“What *will* be available before Christmas (in fact, by Monday or Tuesday, I hope) is a line of t-shirts, mugs, Sigg bottles and other items, all produced using print-on-demand technology. I'm using Spreadshirt for the majority of products. I've bought t-shirts from Spreadshirt before; the quality is first class.”

Sorry, but the only product available right now is a bunch of badges. Spreadshirt rejected the vector .ai graphic of the fake tax disc. I've made a mistake in the uploading so need to track down the error.
However, I love the fact Spreadshirt manually check uploaded vector graphics, that gives me faith in their printing.
I'm updating the text on the website all of the time. There have been lots of comments about cyclists who don't own cars and hence don't pay VED. It's a work in progress!
