Oakley Radar EV glasses launched
Oakley has launched these new Radar EV glasses, joining the existing and popular Radar and Radarlock eyewear, a favourite of pros and amateurs alike.
The new Radar EV looks to take some inspiration from the recently released Jawbreakers (you can read that story here) with a taller lens compared to the regular Radar to provide an extended range of view in the upper peripheral region. We’re guessing EV stands for extended view.
The Radar EV is available in a choice of two lens shapes, Path or Pitch. The frame is made from the same O Matter material as the standard Radar glasses with the same grippy Unobtainium arms.
The lenses are interchangeable, with a hinged nose piece similar to the Jawbreakers allowing the lenses to be swapped out. Oakley has introduced the new Prizm lens, for both trail and road applications, developed to help “spot subtle changes in the texture of the road surface and with vents to prevent fogging.
The new Radar EV glasses cost £135 and there are various colours and lens tint combinations to choose from.

He's a seasoned cyclist of all disciplines, from road to mountain biking, touring to cyclo-cross, he only wishes he had time to ride them all. He's mildly competitive, though he'll never admit it, and is a frequent road racer but is too lazy to do really well. They are very comfy and you do notice the fact the frame is slightly higher. The vent in the top of the lens does feel a little odd (the air really does flow and aat the start I kept thinking I had sweat running down my forehead) but you get used to it quickly. I love the uranium colour, so will be flogging my Radars now I've got these.
So what is the difference between Oakley's EV radar and jawbreaker? I will stick with my regular radar as it looks way better!
Jawbreaker has a full frame
I always like the look of Oakleys, 'til I remember they don't fit my face at all...so uncomfortable.
