#mycyclingweekend - Your bikes are special, and here's why

So, on Friday we asked you why your bikes are special. We questioned the stories behind your bikes, what they were made of, and where each of your sentimental attachments to your mechanical beasts lay.

And you responded. Loads of you sent in images of you, your bikes, and little bits of your bikes with a little bit of a story as to why they were special for you.

For example, one of the earliest responders to the call for stories was Boz, who says that his bike is special because he can't stop grinning while he's in the saddle. Which would explain his lack of grin while stood by his bike, and also might give us a window into how he handles pain.

I'll tell you something though, I'm not one to grin while stamping out the steepest meters of a leg-aching climb. Grimace maybe. You've got to be something special to grin through that sort of pain.

Joining Boz on the early responders list to this week's #mycyclingweekend question was Lara Davies. Lara's Bianchi-aping BTwin is certainly something to behold.

Matthew Brownnutt later chimed in with an image that nicely sums up what makes him and his bike special. A custom stem cap; no less.

This little beauty is word of warning to new riders, and a comforting reminder to the more experienced. It's absolute right too. Words to live by Matt, words to live by.

Taking this opportunity to give a nod of recognition, reccommendation, and probably deep thanks to the creators of his Sturdy bike, was Tom Sturdy.

He didn't make it particularly clear at first, but a little bit of digging lead us to believe that Tom Sturdy - of Sturdy Bikes - is in fact recognising himself for building his bike. Whether this is a case of pulling a publicitiy stunt, or a simple matter of uncertain self-identification, we're not entirely sure. You alright Tom?

Another custom built bike, this time from someone who appears to be a little more certain that they are who they think they are. Are you sure you're alright Tom?

The lucky owner of this custom set of wheels is Jenny Ondioline, who has Neils Wheels Shop to thank for her wheels. She's also got her mates to thank for a special #mycyclingweekend.
