Friday 26th Feb - coffee, cake, demo kit, free schwag and of course, riding!!

We're hosting another rideout from our Bath HQ a week on Friday, the 26th at 2pm and alongside the usual coffee and cake extravaganza we've got the guys from clothing company X-Bionic turning up with a load of demo kit for you to try out on the ride. Read on to see the full itinerary.....

When and where?

roadcc office rideout (17)

Green Park Station in Bath, that's where you'll find our HQ nestled away in the corner with the road.cc team behind the website on hand to greet you from 1pm onwards. We'll lay on the cakes, tea and coffee before the rider briefing at 1:45pm then we'll roll out into the lanes of Somerset at 2pm.

X-Bionic Clothing Demo

We've teamed up with technical clothing specialists X-Bionic to offer you the chance to test some of their latest cycling range on the ride. Every rider trying out the gear also receives a free polo shirt from the company worth fifty euros. Not a bad deal eh?

Full details of how to put your name down for clothing will be included in an email to all rideout registered riders next week but as a little teaser X-Bionic will be bringing a package for each rider of Trick Jersey, Trick Bibshorts, Symframe Jacket plus Eva leg and arm warmers for both men and women, an outfit worth more than £500. There is also an option to try the Effector Bibshorts too.

Their UK man will also be there to talk you through the range and how their clothing works. There is a limited number of outfits mind so it's on a first come first served basis - make sure you get your name down as soon as you can.

Routes

We'll take a quiet route out of the city before embarking on a loop of twenty-five to thirty miles around the country lanes that are in abundance in this part of the country. We'll offer a couple of groups running at differing speeds to cater for everyone, a quicker one for those who want to get their heads down with another taking a more sociable approach.

Full route details will be emailed out to all registered riders in the week leading up to the event.

What else?

When we return to the office there'll be more food and drink for recovery plus everyone's name goes into the ballot to win some free schwag, a selection of cycling orientated goodies from the office.

It's FREE!!!!!!!!!!

That's right, none of this will cost you a penny. All you have to do is enter here to get your name down and we'll see you at road.cc HQ on a beautifully sunny Friday afternoon (possibly!!)

Since writing his first bike review for road.cc back in early 2009 senior product reviewer Stu has tested more than a thousand pieces of kit, and hundreds of bikes.

With an HND in mechanical engineering and previous roles as a CNC programmer/machinist, draughtsman and development engineer (working in new product design) Stu understands what it takes to bring a product to market. A mix of that knowledge combined with his love of road and gravel cycling puts him in the ideal position to put the latest kit through its paces.

He first made the switch to road cycling in 1999, primarily for fitness, but it didn’t take long for his competitive side to take over which led to around ten years as a time triallist and some pretty decent results. These days though riding is more about escapism, keeping the weight off and just enjoying the fact that he gets to ride the latest technology as part of his day job.
