Victoria Pendleton confirmed for Cheltenham Festival ride

Olympic keirin champ to ride Pacha Du Polder in 'Gold Cup for Amateurs'...

Olympic keirin champion Victoria Pendleton has landed herself a ride on the biggest day of the National Hunt horse racing calendar after being confirmed for the Foxhunters Chase at the Cheltenham Festival on Gold Cup day a week on Friday.

She will ride Pacha Du Polder, the same mount she rode to victory in only her second outing under National Hunt rules at Wincanton last week, just one year after saddling a horse for the first time.

The 35-year-old will talk about the prospect of riding a race often termed the Gold Cup for Amateurs in a press conference later today.

Here's a video of Pendleton securing her maiden victory over the jumps.

Good for her. After all the crap she took from BC the flack she's getting from the horsey set must seem pretty tame. Hope she wins.
