Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre (NEC) will be hosting this year’s edition of the UK’s longest-running cycling exhibition next week for the biggest show yet.
Opening on Friday, The Cycle Show has expanded for 2016, with more than 300 exhibitors showcasing some of the world’s best cycle brands.
Joining the line-up for the first time in 2016 are Cannondale and Orange mountain bikes from Sheffield.
They join the biggest line-up of bike brands in the country including the likes of Cube, Canyon, Ribble, Merkx, Planet-X, Trek, Bianchi, Colnago, Boardman, Whyte, KTM, Hope, SRAM, Lazer, FSA, Shimano, Cinelli, Kinesis, Ritte, Primal, Pinarello, Schwalbe, Deda, Lapierre, Mondraker, Storck, Condor, Campagnolo and many more.
Rio Olympic gold medallists Ed Clancy and Jo Rowsell Shand are confirmed to appear on the ‘Protect Your Bubble’ Stage on Friday 23rd September, talking about their career-defining wins and plans for the future, in conversation with Ned Boulting.
Former Olympic champion and Hour Record holder Chris Boardman MBE, three-time world champion and Olympic gold medallist Dani King and MTB dynasty the Athertons, who hold six world championship titles between them, will also take questions from the audience.
Trials star Danny Macaskill will be appearing at the Magura stand (L59) on Saturday afternoon and Rio Olympics double-medallist Callum Skinner will also be on stage on Sunday.
Four kilometres of test tracks, including the UK’s first indoor e-MTB track with Bosch where you can try out the latest models from Cube, Haibike, Trek and Stealth, will be open every day between 9.30am to 5pm from Friday 23 to Sunday 25.
You can also test over 40 road bikes from Trek, Bianchi, Canyon, Condor, Pinarello and more, plus try out new models from Trek at the Trek MTB Sessions track.
The Cycle Show will also host Vélo Birmingham, a new 100-mile closed road sportive in September 2017, with 15,000 cyclists expected to take part. The sportive will be launched by England rugby legend turned cyclist Martin Johnson, as well as representative from Birmingham City Council.
The Cycle Show takes place this September 23 - 25 at the NEC, Birmingham.
