Video: Cyclists do the Mannequin Challenge - and it's pretty impressive

Riders from Rimini-based Dafne Fixed embrace the latest viral video craze

Unless you’ve been living in a cave for the past week or two with no internet access – perhaps a tempting prospect given the way the world’s been going – you’ll have heard of the Mannequin Challenge.

The latest viral video craze, believed to have been started last month by students in Jacksonville, Florida, has been widely embraced by sports teams throughout the world – incuding the English and Spanish national football teams in last week’s friendly international at Wembley.

Here’s a version posted to Instagram earlier today by Rimini-based bike brand and cycling team sponsor Dafne Fixed.

It follows other internet memes that have been embraced by the cycling world, including the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in 2014, with participants including Alberto Contador.

I'm just leaving my cave too. Could someone please tell me who is going to be the next US President? But wait, I'm very thirsty, just let me get some liquid in my mouth first...

They say it's going to be a guy called Ronald Reagan. An actor from the movies. At least that'll be the stupidest thing America ever does, after that, the only way is up.

I hate to break it to you, but they only went and elected George HW Bush's idiot son Dubya.  But rest assured, there's no possible way they could do anything dumber than that.

I'm still in my cave. Video doesn't seem to be working so I'm still none the wiser

Did cyclingtips start this a month ago or was it just a craze they were in on early?

Saw them post a rider knee down on a corner, like actually touching the road and it got spammed with 'grammers freaking out saying it was a photoshop (lol).

Lots of cavemen about. Me included. I also work with cavemen, none of them knew what I was talking about.
