Anna Schwinn, the great, great granddaughter of Ignaz Schwinn, the Schwinn companies founder has collaborated with Peacock Groove Bicycles to create a stunning one-off bike in memory of the legendary Prince.
Schwinn, admitting that this was a go big or go home project, asked frame builder Erik Noren if he’d build her a special frame. Eric, a highly experienced frame builder said ”I was like, 'If we're gonna do it, we have to go all out, we have to be audacious with class,' which is what Prince was”.
The purple bike is currently on display at the North American Bike Show and the detail that has gone into the build is certainly grabbing people’s attention. The famous Prince symbol appears on the cage mounts, light mounts, headtube and custom saddle.
The subtle touches continue all over the bike with laser-etched crying doves on the brake levers and disc brake rotors with the words "Baby you're much too fast" cut out of the metal.
The purple theme continues to the custom laser etched HED rims that feature the lyrics to Purple Rain, one of Prince’s most famous songs.
According to Eric, the value of this one off is somewhere over $10,000 and it’s been used. Anna has been riding it, adding a few dings and scratches. Although as Eric says, “if you want something to hang on your wall, I'll make you a painting.”

I really want those brake discs, they are awesome
There used to be a company Dirty Dog, that would make you any custom rotor you wanted, they tended to be utterly gopping flame & Skull type designs that were all the rage a few years ago, looks like their site is down and they've shut up shop.
I'm sure you can still get a Custom Rotor from a Motorbike Chop Shop should you really want those rotors
That's such a hot bike that I'm going to have to purify myself in lake Minnetonka
It'll be frozen over this time of year, you'll need an auger.
That ain't Lake Minnetonka.
If I had that I could cycle like it's 1999.
You'd need some Purple anodised canti brakes to really cycle like it's 1999.
Oh, now that's cool. Detailing is just exquisite.
