Today's video in our Near Miss of the Day feature shows not one but two incidents in which lorry drivers made very close overtakes on cyclists.
They were both filmed by road.cc reader Ian who told us that South Yorkshire Police has told them there was not enough evidence to prosecute (other ofrces, we are aware, may have viewed the incidents differently).
He also complained to the firms whose names the lorries bear - in the firsst clip, Leicestershire-based Fred Sherwood, who said they would speak to the driver, although Ian hasn't heard anything further from them, and in the second clip, Yodel, whom he said "did not care about the inicdent."
As we've said before, it's particularly shocking to see close passes made by the professional drivers of such large vehicles, and for no action to be taken even when the vehicle clearly shows the law being broken.
> Near Miss of the Day turns 100 - Why do we do the feature and what have we learnt from it?
Over the years road.cc has reported on literally hundreds of close passes and near misses involving badly driven vehicles from every corner of the country – so many, in fact, that we decided to turn the phenomenon into a regular feature on the site. One day hopefully we will run out of close passes and near misses to report on, but until that happy day arrives, Near Miss of the Day will keep rolling on.
If you’ve caught on camera a close encounter of the uncomfortable kind with another road user that you’d like to share with the wider cycling community please send it to us at info [at] road.cc or send us a message via the road.cc Facebook page.
If the video is on YouTube, please send us a link, if not we can add any footage you supply to our YouTube channel as an unlisted video (so it won't show up on searches).
Please also let us know whether you contacted the police and if so what their reaction was, as well as the reaction of the vehicle operator if it was a bus, lorry or van with company markings etc.

Yodel have a depot near us, and they don't care about speed limits or other road users. Believe they use un-marked vans a lot more these days to reduce bad publicity.
Unfortunately I have never met a Yodel delivery driver who isn't rude and ignorant.
The company's delivery schedules are a work of fiction too.
With so little care for their customers and their commercial reputation, it's hardly surprising that they care even less about road safety.
Yodel give no shits about anything.
Yodel don't even care about being a delivery firm, so I doubt they'd care about this. Blatant liars in my experience.
