Perhaps the rowing failure is because he is getting close to 40, rather than if he has a bag of sugar up his arse. And as for insulting national treasures, leave Dermot out of it.
I read that cyclist review and I just thought that it sounded like a journo scorned had written it, maybe Sir Biggo had hurt their feelings in the past.
I'm not saying that Sir Waggo isn't a douchebag, he's clearly not very media friendly, but the writing in that article screams of bias.
I note that there is not an author attributed to the article it either, which is prettylow,if you're going to write a damming review at least have the courage to put your name against it.Edit, I can see that there is a name against it. Trevor Ward.
Also... while I think, 'Cyclist' hate team sky, have been a massive stoker of hate over the past couple of years.
Brad gonna Brad
Book to sell, people to rile up etc etc
I saw Ned Boulting last week - for the second time. Brilliant show, lovely bloke, sort of fella you could have a long session with in the pub after just meeting him. Opposite to Bradley in many ways, but I think it'd be just as easy to get shitfaced with him too.
I was at the Kentish Town date, so not the one reviewed, but some thoughts:
- my interpretation of his comments re Cavendish was that they were very much tongue in cheek. Ribbing a mate rather than criticising him. He also had some very warm words to say about him.
- His view of Armstrong was very much more nuanced that has been presented in the press. I didn’t agree with everything he said, but it was somewhat removed from what the press have seized upon (although given the amount of Armstrong jerseys in the book, I take that with a pinch of salt.)
3. Wiggins is who he is. Yes he’s gonna wind some people up the wrong way, but he has an interesting story to tell, and comes across much less self absorbed than some might think.
Likewise with wife, daughter and daughter's boyfriend. Some great pops at champagne spraying Rapha wearers, absolute clarity on Armstrong and some real insights into his life and "flawed character" (his words). I met him at a track league event he rode out to watch the day he got his new Confidis kit and bike (so years ago). Banter towards Tony Gibb was pretty harsh but seemed a nice bloke then too. If you don't like him don't go - there were lots of people there who Im guessing felt it was worth the money.
Wiggins and Cav are like an old married couple - The Hooky and Barney (Sumner) of the sporting world. But - The work Wiggins did to get Cav his Rainbow jersey - then Wiggo in yellow leading Cav in the stripes onto the Champs Elysées - their Madison win at the 2016 Worlds. Some pair! (The description of Brailsford made me spit my coffee out... )
Aye but look how that turned out
Wiggins is deffo Hooky (the cooler one) while I can see Cav losing it on too many Pernod and oranges. They should do an LP together and call it ‘Power, Corruption & Thighs’. I’d buy it!
I saw Geraint Thomas on stage in Monmouth last Friday; he was really interesting, genuinely self effacing and seemed very normal.
I certainly wouldn't waste my money on seeing Wiggo; I read one of his books once and lost any respect I had for him, as he seemed to spend an inordinate amount of type on explaining how great he was.
Chris Boardman was on stage in Monmouth a while back and he was really engaging too.
Well, you've got an opportunity to use your position of popularity to spread some good stuff and you go and waste it by spouting shite, Sir Bradders.
#Wanker
Is that right, Wiggins?

I'm starting to get bored with this guy's obnoxious and tedious antics just to get cheap headlines. He wouldn't know a hard life if it thumped him on the head.
American so doesn't count.
