You don't need to put no cycling signs up on a pavement - all pavements are no cycling by default, you have to put a sign up if cycling is allowed.(Highway Code Rule 64)
If they were on the pavement they would NOT be blue, as blue ones denote that cycling IS permitted on the pavement, not that it is forbidden. Why can't these reporters get their facts straight before they make themselves look thick?!!!!
ROFL @ Stato!
There's a cycle bridge over the M60 in Denton Manchester, and as you get to the designated 'cycle' path - there is a no cycling sign.
Nice to see my council tax note being wasted....
The signs/path were installed by the Hospital and approved by the council, so its mainly your general tax that was wasted and only a little of your council tax :0)
Left hand doesn't know what right hand is doing
This is more common than first appears. In an area in Greenwich, you are not allowed to cycle yet there is a cycle route through it. I'll try to take some pictures and send them in.
Let's face it - probably many of the people that put these signs up have never ridden a bike before.
I take it Cambridgeshire County Council had some signs budget they had top spend quickly. Why else would those signed be needed. Or maybe they plan to put no cycling signs on all pavements in the county.
for 'made clearer', read 'done properly'
