Roy1.jpgFirst pro win for Shimano Di2 at Paris Nice
Jeremy Roy's victory in Stage 5 of Paris Nice last week was not just a momentous moment for you young Frenchman – the first professional win of his career, it was also a big day Shimano – the first professional win for a bike, (FdJ ride Lapierres), equipped with their new electronic shifting version of the Dura Ace groupset.
The Francaise des Jeaux rider was part of the days decisive break and then put the hammer down with 6.7Km to go to the finish to take the stage.
We had a look at the new groupset last year at Eurobike, and it certainly performed impressively on a turbo (watch the video of the Di2 demo). Shimano will be relieved to see that it can also deliver in the pro peloton too.
The electronic variety of Dura Ace is currently expected to hit UK bike shops in May.
