Specialized 2009 bikes: Mmm… Langster flat bar

Specialized had a huge stand at Eurobike that seemed to contain every incarnation of every bike they're planning to try to sell you in 2009. In terms of actual bike designs and ranges available, however, not much seems to have changed from last year. The range is basically the same, and the improvements in design and spec over 2008 are fairly minimal, which was a theme among a lot of the major brands at this year's show. Having said that, there was a lot to like about Specialized last year, so it's not bad news that they've decided to stick with a winning hand...

The Langster is always changing, however, and there were a few interesting ones on show. The New York has flat bars and taxi graphics, and the Monte Carlo is Cinzano-inspired understatement.

Specialized's sub brand Globe was on display too, with a range of city machines. They were available in the UK last year but were pretty low profile, we're hoping that Specialized big them up a bit more this year as there's some prett interesting machines in the range, with disc brakes, hub gears and even an integrated light and stem...
