Just days after we reported how a doctor’s bike had been stolen as she attended to an injured motorcyclist on Holloway Road comes news that a policeman had his bike stolen in similar circumstances a few miles away in Stamford Hill.
The theft happened as a police officer from the Lordship Safer Neighbourhoods Team attended to a Police Community Support Officer who had been injured after being struck by a car last Thursday at 5pm in Cazenove Road, reports the Hackney Gazzette.
Sergeant Sue Wright, from the Clissold Safer Neighbourhoods team, told the newspaper: “I am anxious for this bike to be returned to us so that we can continue to patrol the ward on two wheels.”
The bike in question is a black and silver Specialized Crosstail, with no decals denoting it as a police bike. It was donated to the police just a fortnight ago by Spence Bakery, Church Street, Stoke Newington, adds the newspaper.
Christopher Irwin, aged 22 and of no fixed abode, has been charged with attempted grievous bodily harm with regard to the injuries sustained by the PCSO.

Why so much giref towards the Police?? It's the thiefing scum you should be having a pop at. If you read the last paragraph you'll see that the Police charged someone. London is s***hole and a full of thiefs, fraudster and crooks. If you don't like it move somewhere else!!

Wasn't mean't as flippant, obviously hope the PCSO makes a full recovery, it just seemed ironic that bike theft in London is rarely taken seriously and it is well known that stolen gear turns up at markets like Brick Lane and unless you go mob handed to fight for your bike little interest is taken.
Hope they get the people responsible for both incidents.
I know what you mean. Perhaps plod will pay more attention to bike theft and dangerous drivers. Let's hope so.
