Rebecca Romero Daily Mirror Great Manchester CyclePrices slashed for June's Great Manchester Cycle as Daily Mirror comes on board as sponsor
Organisers of the Great Manchester Cycle, the closed road event that takes place on Monday 4 June have dropped the price of the event to just £10 instead of the original price of £28 after bringing the Daily Mirror on board as sponsor of the event.
The reduced price, which also reflects the tenth anniversary of sister event, the Great Manchester Run, applies to all three distances – 13 miles, 26 miles and 52 miles – while the price for children aged 8-15 is now £5; children aged 3-7 ride for free.
The fully supported event which starts and finishes at Eastland heads west on closed roads including the Mancunian Way to Salford before heading back, and full details, including how to enter, can be found on the Daily Mirror Great Manchester Cycle website.
Rebecca Romero, winner of Olympic gold in the individual pursuit at Beijing, commented: “The Great Manchester Cycle is going to be a fantastic day out and a very different experience to anything riders will have experienced before.
“Riding on closed roads through the heart of Manchester for just £10 will be an incredible thing to do and hopefully families and keen cyclists alike will turn out for a day they won’t forget.”
