This weekend our home town of Bath is playing host to the inaugural Bike Bath weekend, why not come down and try on a few of our hills for size? There's sportives, speakers and static bikes as well as plenty of food and, of course, the beautiful city of Bath and the wonderful landscapes of the Mendips and Cotswolds. Come and join us!
Friday night with Graeme Obree, Rob Penn and Ben Rockett
Bike Bath kicks off on Friday night, with an event launch that'll include former hour record holder and current human powered speed record hopeful Graeme Obree, noted bike author Rob Penn and LEJOGLE record holder Ben Rockett. We'll be there too, and you can have pasta cooked by Michelin-starred chef Rob Clayton. Since the Pavillion is right in the centre of Bath there's ample other opportunities for 'refreshment' later on too.
Saturday sportives in the Mendips
Don't overdo it though, because Saturday is the first of two days of sportives. There's 30-, 60- and 100-mile options on both days, all setting out from the Pavillion in the heart of Bath. Saturday's rides go out towards the Mendips, with famous landmarks such as Cheddar Gorge and Burrington Combe included in the longer routes, and you'll get all the good stuff – chip timing, fully signed routes, food stops, motorbike assistance – that you'd expect from a well-run sportive.
Roller racing at Avon Valley Cyclery on Saturday night
Back at base after the ride there's more pasta, and then there's time to freshen up before heading out to Avon Valley Cyclery's brand new store for an evening of Rollapaluza roller racing. It's a great way to spend an evening so don't miss out!
Sunday sportives in the Cotswolds
Sunday brings more sportives, and this time riders will be heading North towards the Costwolds for some stiff climbs and beautiful villages, including the award-winning Castle Combe. Again, once you get back the kitchen will be open for pasta and chat. All riders completing the courses will receive a high quality drawstring bag courtesy of our sponsors Velosure. This will include a limited edition award designed by local illustrator Simon Spilsbury and specific to each distance.
10% off with road.cc
Sound good? of course it does. And because we're nice like that you can get 10% off your entry (or entries) with road.cc. Simply head over to the Bike Bath website and use the code ROADCC10 to get your discount. See you over the weekend!
