Copenhagen cycle photo exhibition on London's King's Road this Friday

Pictures from Copenhagenize and Copenhagen Cycle Chic founder Mikael Colville-Andersen go on show

Duke of York Square on London’s King’s Road will this Friday host an exhibition of photographs of cyclists in the Danish capital Copenhagen by Mikael Colville-Andersen, the man behind the Copenhagenize and Copenhagen Cycle Chic websites and expert on cycling cultures and infrastructure.

The exhibition, which aims to highlight how the city’s cycle culture evolved and the lessons that others can draw from it, is jointly hosted by the Danish Embassy, located on nearby Sloane Street, and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s Bikeminded project, which is funded by the European Union.

The outdoor exhibition, accompanied by a display of bikes from Danish brands including Velorbis, Nihola and Avenue, will be open from 11am to 4pm.

If you can’t make it, you can view Colville-Andersen’s pictures in his recent Cycle Chic book, published in the UK by Thames & Hudson.

Colville-Andersen will be speaking tomorrow evening about Danish cycling culture at Chelsea Old Town Hall – the event, unfortunately, is now sold out – and will also be addressing the All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group at the Houses of Parliament earlier in the day.
