GripGrab winter clothing comes to UK

Wiggle pick up Danish cycle clothing brand

Wiggle have picked up exclusive UK distribution rights for GripGrab, a Danish brand that concentrates on gloves and cycling accessories.

GripGrab was founded in 2000 by brothers Kristian, Bjørn and Martin Krøye with a focus on developing a range of mountain bike gloves. Over the years their range has expanded to included road cycling gloves, overshoes, socks and headwear.

The company describe their products as, “Offering protection and comfort for your hands, feet and head.” And, as they're based in Denmark, they're well used to cold winters. Their winter gloves are particular highlights of the range.

DoctorGel - carefully placed gel padding on the palms of the gloves - is something the company has developed with doctors and active athletes. It features on several of their gloves. It's intended to reduce the compression of nerves in the hand, they quote statistics from a clinical study that shows 70% of long distance riders experience symptoms related to nerve compression.

Wiggle will be bringing in most of the range, including eight different models of gloves and five different overshoes. You can see the full range at www.wiggle.co.uk/gripgrab. We'll be getting some samples in for review soon.

A couple of other highlights include the Hammerhead Winter Overshoe (£35.96), made from a poyurethane-coated neoprene providing waterproof and thermally insulated protection for your feet, and the Hurricane glove (£31.46) - a fully windproof lightweight glove with a water-resistant construction.

David worked on the road.cc tech team from 2012-2020. Previously he was editor of Bikemagic.com and before that staff writer at RCUK. He's a seasoned cyclist of all disciplines, from road to mountain biking, touring to cyclo-cross, he only wishes he had time to ride them all. He's mildly competitive, though he'll never admit it, and is a frequent road racer but is too lazy to do really well. He currently resides in the Cotswolds, and you can now find him over on his own YouTube channel David Arthur - Just Ride Bikes

Their "Doctor Gel" mitts are awesome - not the cheapest, but i've been wearing them for maybe 3 summers now, still going strong.
