New "Classics" Mugs from Cycling Souvenirs

Those vendors of cycling related fancies Cycling Souvenirs have just added some timely beverage based items to their range of biking gifts.

First up us a new collection of mugs based on the One Day Classics featuring races from both the Spring and Autumn campaigns. The Milan-San Remo, Ronde van Vlaanderen, Paris-Roubaix, Amstel Gold Race, La Fleche Wallone, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Paris-Tours and the Giro di Lombardia are each available in coffee or tea holder form. Or hot Ribena, maybe. Each mug has the route profile of their featured race wrapped around it with the famous climbs or cobbled sections annotated and with their relative height or length included. The classic mugs are 9cm high and a hold 300ml/11oz, which is enough for a cup of tea, or not quite enough for a small bottle of Belgian beer. Not that you’d drink beer out of a mug, naturally, unless you’re watching Flanders.

If your cycle related mug exploits are a little more prosaic you can celebrate them with the Cycling Souvenirs “Sportive” range featuring the Etape du Tour, Wiggle Ride and a Mercian mugs. The latter from the legendary steel frame builders in Derby features an “Everyone is going faster on a Mercian” design and is usually only available from Mercian themselves.

Finally, if the mugs are perfect for the post-ride warming cuppa then these are just the thing for the pre-ride kick-start; Cycling Souvenirs new espresso and cappuccino cups and saucers. As well as the col cups there are also World Championship and King of the Mountains espresso cups with the rainbow bands or polka dots around the top, although we’re pretty sure The Rules say only the winners of those respective jerseys can drink from these. Your opinion may differ. The espresso cups are an authentic thick-walled Italian design to keep the cofficianados happy and are dishwasher safe. Finally there’s a “La Marmotte” cappuccino cup and saucer, decorated with a profile of the route wrapped around the cup it holds 290ml/10.5oz of milky brown liquid and costs £15.00.

Something there for any cycling fan to warm their hands on whilst they watch a Classic on telly then, or if this Spring is anything to go by, pouring hot tea over themselves to thaw out.
