The B'twin Aerofit 900 gloves top Decathlon's range of mitts. They're the same mitts as used by the FDJ.fr professional cycling team, and they're cool and snug.
These are well-designed, no non-sense affairs. There's a silicone gripper at the wrist that keeps things in place; lightweight breathable fabric on the top and Technogel padding on the palms, which are nice and grippy. Between the fingers, a special mesh keeps things cool.
The fabric on the tops is nice and stretchy, so getting them on and off is easy enough, and is helped by the pull-tab at the wrist. That fabric is really thin, which helps against overheating, but a few scuffs have started appearing already: this is not going to be the longest lived pair of mitts I've used.
One thing that's missing is a snotpatch, presumably in the interest of keeping things lightweight. Not a dealbreaker for me.
I didn't particularly like the retro look of the white/red version on test, but I really can't complain about their function; they fit so well I didn't notice they were there.
The Aerofit 900s also come in white/black, and in five sizes: S, M, L (tested), XL and 2XL. I've got fairly small hands and the large fitted me fine; they come up a bit smaller than usual. As usual, fit is very important, so try before you buy if you can.
Verdict
Very comfy, but not overly padded, mitts that do their job without fuss
