At road.cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists that we trust to be objective. While we strive to ensure that opinions expressed are backed up by facts, reviews are by their nature an informed opinion, not a definitive verdict. We don't intentionally try to break anything (except locks) but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The overall score is not just an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product compares with items of similar spec, quality, and price.

The Sticky Pod is a simple and effective organiser for carrying stuff in your jersey pocket, if that's what you like to do.

It is what I like to do: I have a number of bikes and the large Sticky Pod can swallow everything I need to get me back on the road on any of them. Inside it has a zipped phone pocket (with a touchscreen-compatible plastic window) and three mesh pockets, two of them zipped. There's space for a tube, a tool, some levers, some cash, a credit card and a mini pump, assuming your mini pump isn't more than about nine inches long.

Stuff all the gear into the pockets, zip it up with the pump inside, lob it in your middle jersey pocket and off you go. It's a bit bulkier than spreading everything between your pockets but not so much that I've ever found it an issue on a ride, and you get two pockets free for gels and such. The large Sticky Pod pokes out of most jersey pockets but only a bit, and the tacky material on the outside of the neoprene shell helps it to stay put. If the sticky-out bit worries you, the smaller version might be what you need; you won't get a pump in that but it'll still swallow a toolkit for a day ride, and your phone.

The makers don't claim that the Sticky Pod is waterproof but I've never had any rain get inside; the neoprene shell is pretty hardy and it's in a fairly sheltered position on your back. If you do have to stop and fiddle with your bike, or answer your phone it's a lot easier to find stuff than digging around in your pockets or a seatpack, and it doesn't need transferring from one bike to the next. You need to be a bit careful about where you put everything inside the Sticky Pod to make sure you get the best shape for your jersey pocket but it's not difficult and you soon get the hang of where things need to go.

I've been really happy using the Sticky Pod and it's now my first choice for carrying stuff around on rides.

I bought a small first aid bag that works very well and has a handle on the top so you can drag it out easily behind your back:

It's really convenient having everything ready for a ride, and its small enough to fit entirely within a jersey centre pocket.

This is great.

As mentioned in the review if you use more than one bike regulary then this makes taking all you need so easy. (Training ride - in the jersey, Commute with a bag - in the bag, Travelling with a bikebox - you have your ride supplies ready to go)

I only road ride and used it for the Etape in the Alpes and now all the time.

With the the large one I fit 2 x inner tubes, 2 x CO2 and valve, levers, minitool, patches, swiss pen knife, mini pump and cash/card. This fits in the center pocket leaving the other 2 for food, phone (in protective case), gillet etc.

I ride solo early mornigs over mountains at weekends when I see not a sole around and prefer to be self sufficient and prepared.

Been using one of these for over a year now. Wouldn't be without it on a ride. I can get 2 tubes, 2 CO2 bottles with inflator, mobile phone, tyre levers and a gel inside without a problem.

If you're intent on taking everything but the kitchen sink with you on a ride, then you'd be better off with a saddle bag.

I ordered one and I couldn't get 2 tubes in it at all. Also the rings for holding a pump were so small I couldn't get them on my mini pump.

Sent it back for a refund.

No just Continental road tubes.

i rode bath to exmouth the other day with 2x tubes, tool, chain breaker, puncture kit, pump, money and cards in it. that's more or less the limit but 2x tubes wasn't really an issue.

the pump loops are pretty fiddly but then i never use them anyway, it's not like the pump is going anywhere once you zip it up
