Revolution’s ingenious protect floor saver might be just the ticket should your bike live indoors-particularly in rented properties. It’s a nylon skirt that engulfs the wheels and transmission protecting flooring from the ravages of wet or muddy steeds.

Fitting couldn’t be simpler. Unpack it from its stuff sac and open the draw-string as far as it allows. Lay the floor saver like an open sack and plonk the bike in. Erect the cover over the wheels, close the Velcro tab and adjust cord snugly to prevent it unravelling. A generous 60cm height conceals the transmission-great for swaying wary B&B owners or persuading a significant other that the best bike should reside in the spare bedroom. For best results, remove panniers for a snug, tailored fit but if you felt particularly lazy, it still works with smaller models in situ.

Performance is generally excellent, with virtually no stains or leakage. While the material seems generally robust, those habitually riding in very wet or muddy conditions (rough stuff tourists, cyclo crossers and mountain bikers) with nice carpets would be advised to go the belt and braces approach, laying plastic matting beneath the floor saver. Summing up, it's an elegant solution to the perennial problem of keeping bikes safely indoors without damaging furnishings and represents particularly good value compared with the expense of professional cleaning.

It is basically a nylon cover engulfing the wheels and transmission so as to protect carpet and other flooring. Intended primarily at cyclists keeping their bikes indoors, it is also intended for touring cyclists wanting to keep their bike in the room of a guest house or B&B

Thin but robust nylon with draw-string and velcro closures. With the notable exception of a long wheel based recumbent and other specialist steeds, it accomodates anything from a track bike through to expedition MTB with guards.

PBK are good for bargains like that, anyone else spotted the wiggle pricedrop zone? A bit hit and miss but worth a gander.

Cheers for the tip amazon - just been to PBK and got the chain cover, as well as seeing a decente jersey for a tenner that parker are selling for 40 quid!

Bought one of these a few weeks ago for keeping bike in a holiday cottage - its excellent. It’s a rebadged generic chinese item, and none the worse for that - ProBikeKit do the same thing but for more money. I also have Revolution wheel bag which is really top quality for just under £13. I can also recommend the PBK Bike Transmission Cover, currently on offer at under £5 posted!
