Brompton brings Black Edition folding bike back due to popular demand + video
Due to popular demand, so goes the Brompton press release, the iconic folding bike company is bringing its Black Edition back, after the first run of the limited edition model quickly sold out after production in March 2015.
What sets the Black Edition apart from regular Brompton bikes is a complete blacked out appearance, with the chrome components on the rims, spokes and seatpost replaced with black components. This has been inspired by night-time cycling in cities and is aimed at appealing to a “younger urban audience”.

The main frame can be specified in black, for a black-on-black appearance, or a brand new orange colour option that has been added. There is also white, lime green and lagoon blue. The Black Edition will be available to order in models S, M and H Types, 2 and 6 speed gear options. Prices start from £970.
Brompton’s CEO, Will Butler-Adams OBE, said; “Our first experiment with the Black Edition was a runaway success, appealing to a new younger, urban audience. We are excited to extend the Black Edition to encourage more people to get on a Brompton and enjoy the freedom and fun it brings!”
