Family Bicycle Cruise to Street Velodrome, Worthing
As you are all no doubt aware, the Street Velodrome is coming to Worthing in August. Following the huge success of the Kids Easter Bike Ride along the prom, we are arranging another and aiming to get even more riders out together!
The plan is to meet at the Wind Shelter at the bottom of George Fifth Ave (there is free parking) at around 9am on the Saturday morning. We will then ride all together along the Prom to the official opening of the event at 10am on Beach House Gardens.
I have chosen Saturday for the kids ride as they will be able to try the Velodrome on that day, plus there are two HGVs (one from Sussex Transport and one from T J Waste) on site demonstrating how cyclists and large vehicles can safely share the road. I did this with my truck at the Get Cycling event last year and it was a huge success for Children and Parents alike!
Note - this is just the cruise to the event, for full details of the day head to Worthing Street Velodrome on Facebook or go direct to the Council website at http://www.adur-worthing.gov.uk/street-velodrome/
This is going to be a cracking weekend of cycling, there will be TV crews, professional racing, side stands and displays, and on Saturday - LOADS OF KIDS!!!
Nice to have proof that someone you always thought to be a twat, actually is one....
So Bexley Council and Bexley Police aren't interested in dangerous illegal parking if it is only for short periods?!
Agreed. He has to turn his 2.175m (35mm tyres) wheel about 148 times in a minute, and he's performing 12 complete crank revolutions per minute, so...
I went from 165mm to 155mm cranks this winter and my average power is up about 10 Watts and my average speed is up 1 mph on the indoor trainer. My...
Traffic calming that makes it more dangerous for cyclists.
Isn't the expression "I don't have a dog in this fight", not "knife"? (Sorry, that's just an irrelevant aside.)
Perhaps you should read the comments, including your own, a bit better then as nobody was discussing whether the product will make a profit or not...
Really, really poor journalism, I thought. Complete lack of clarity.
I'll miss Woodes if it does indeed vanish, but the idea that motorists kept it going is bizarre. It is surrounded by some major workplaces in easy...
Some news coverage did mention bikes.
