Evans Cycles, the UK’s No1 cycle retailer, has unveiled its RideIt! cycle programme for 2013. RideIt! is a series of organised mountain bike and sportive events which take place twice a month at various stunning locations across the UK. RideIt! series, now in its 5th year has created rides for beginners through to more experienced riders and was initially designed as an fun, affordable and accessible programme to encourage cyclist of all abilities to get out and ride and enjoy the outdoors.
With the rise in cycling over recent years the RideIt! Sportive events experience early season sell-out. The events take place on weekends at some of Britain’s most picturesque locations including, Brighton, the Cotswolds, the Peak District and the Pennines, with the mountain bike events taking place on
the Saturday and the sportive events on the Sunday at each destination.
There are three or four marked routes to choose from at each of the events of varying difficulties:
Sportive:
Sportive Fun Route
A great introduction to road riding with minimal climbing. A fantastic event for the whole family.
Sportive Short Route
A leisurely ride for regular casual bike riders. Hybrids and mountain bikes also welcome.
Sportive Medium Route
Excellent workout for more experienced riders and a great way to work up to longer distances.
Sportive Long Route
A challenging ride for experienced cyclists designed to test your fitness and stamina.
Mountain Bike:
Mountain Bike Short Route
A great ride for first time mountain bike riders or those looking to improve their fitness. The route involves some challenging terrain and should usually take no more than two hours. Riders will be able to ride most of the course however beginners may need to dismount and walk their bike through some challenging sections.
Mountain Bike Medium Route
The most popular route taking between three to five hours the medium route is designed to challenge riders with off-road experience and good level of fitness.
Mountain Bike Long Route
Similar to the Medium route but with an added five-eight miles for those who want to spend longer riding in the British countryside.
Rated 2/5 on climbing, this one is either a great route for those seeking an eaiser ride, or those starting out and after a slightly easier ride. We’ll guide you through Horsell Common, where the Martians landed in War of the Worlds, and we’ll also pass the McLaren Park, the base for McLaren Formula 1, but you might need to crane your neck to see it!

Exactly. Every road death is a tragedy but this is at the "twat deserved it" end of the spectrum, looking at the state of that car.
