Signed and probably the most important thing that I've done today. Whether it has any impact I don't know but if one doesn't sign such things continued lack of action is guaranteed

Good spot, signed. I know we sometimes flirt with the idea of becoming a bit more like the US but IMHO their frank "who pays wins" political system isn't something to emulate. (OTOH we have our "great" indigenous traditions of more or less covert monetary influence - think lobbying and political donors... thankfully there are at least a few places you can read about it e.g. Private Eye).
I loved the Bernie Gunther novels.
In the current one field grey, the conversation goes something like SS officer to Gunther 'if we'd have had more heroes, we might have won the war . '
