Thefts of bikes on the Regents Park Outer Circle.

Please have a look at this disturbing report of cyclists being mugged with violent threats for their bikes whilst out on the Regents Park Outer Circle. These crimes mirror those exactly the same in Richmond Park a few years ago.

Terrible story and genuine sympathy for the lady, and I realise this could easily look like victim blaming, but I'm 6 foot tall, male and built like a brick shithouse and I wouldn't ride around that road at 5:30AM in the middle of January on my own, especially not on an £8000 road bike. I know it shouldn't be like this, I know we should be allowed to ride where we like when we like, but surely a little common sense must be applied? She actually says she was aware of other thefts in the same location by machete wielding thieves before her incident...

Agree 100% regarding riding round that circuit at 5.30am. I don't own an £8000 bike, but even on one of my £1500 to £3500 bikes, I would now be sceptical about riding there, any time of day, or day of the week.. What on earth has happened to our once safe city and the Police?
