Really enjoyed the race. The usual kamikaze attacking of women's racing was well in evidence.
Somewhat predictable that Vos would win. Wild made her work for it but stopped pedalling a few metres too early...
Good race, I felt for Lizzie Armitstead, and for Kirsten Wild. I'm not sure if she went a little early, (she was tiring a little at the end) or if Vos would have been too strong anyway.
Tell you what I wasn't impressed with though - did you notice how quiet the crowds were? They'd turned up to get a good spot for the mens race, but most of them couldn't be arsed to cheer on the women. Maybe the French are a little blase about cycling - the TdF does finish here every year, after all, but let's be real, what kind of crowd reaction do you think they would have got in the UK?
Shame about Lizzy, but well done Marianne for a win that was richly deserved.
