The five districts of Tyne and Wear are covered in a series of new maps produced with cyclists in mind.
The six cycle maps cover South Tyneside, North Tyneside, Sunderland, Newcastle and Gateshead , and the South East Northumberland area.
The free maps aim to raise awareness and encourage cycling in the area.
They show the entire local road and rail network, on and off-road cycling routes, places of interest, crossing points, cycle shops and cycle parking and are ideal for helping cyclists to plan their journeys.
Produced by the Local Transport Plan partners in Tyne and Wear, together with colleagues in South East Northumberland, they have replaced the old Tyneside cycle map, and have been designed to be much more user-friendly.
Copies of the maps are available from tourist information centres, libraries and cycle shops across the borough and on the Shields Ferry.
