GoPro launches Hero+ LCD action camera with built-in touch display, costs £249.99

GoPro adds more affordable camera with LCD touchscreen to its range

Action camera specialist GoPro has launched the new more affordable Hero+ LCD video camera with a built-in LCD touchscreen.

GoPro first added an LCD touchscreen to its updated Hero4 Black and Silver edition cameras last year, but this new addition brings the ease of use provided by the screen to a lower price point.

The Hero+ LCD will cost £249.99, a price which places it between the £109.99 entry-level Hero and £329.99 Hero4 Silver. The top-end Hero4 Black costs £409.99.

The new Hero+ LCD shoots in 1080p60 and 720p60 video and can also do 8MP photos up to 5 frames per second. Like the other models in the GoPro range, the Hero+ LCD is protected in a tough waterproof case and will go down to 40 metres. The battery is non-removeable but is good for a claimed 2-hours.

The new camera boasts Wifi and Bluetooth and it can be connected to the GoPro App on a smartphone to preview recordings and share edits on social media. Other features include Time Lapse, Auto Low-light and HiLight tagging, which makes editing films quick and easy.

The big news of course is the LCD touchscreen. As well as making it much easier to set up shots, it lets you easily play back recordings and gives you access to all the settings and video controls.

The new Hero+ LCD costs £249.99 and will be available July 12th. More at http://shop.gopro.com/cameras/heroplus-lcd/CHDHB-101.html

Wasn't it a GoPro that smashed through Michael Schumacher's ski helmet?

I think that's why the UCI have decided it's OK to have them mounted on the bike but not on helmets.
