In case you missed it last week, the DealCatcher almost came to a dealy end on his search for amazing cycling deals when he was taken captive by the seriously sale-crazy bunch over at Chain Reaction Cycles.
Fortunately for the DealCatcher, and by extension you guys, he was set free and has recovered from his ordeal in time to bring you another batch of bargains this week.
We've got bikes galore today. The somewhat hyperbolic tagline may have been misleading, there aren't actually billions of bargain bikes in this round-up. Rather we've got four amazing bike deals, a massively discounted Specialized jacket, and some excellent hydration tablets from the guys over at Science in Sport for those hot summer rides.
Go ahead; get saving.
Wiggle
It's rare to find a current model bike discounted so heavily.
The NeilPryde is a £2000 bike by all accounts. Full carbon frame, internal cabling, responsive power transfer, a stiff aerodynamic frame - which the guys over at NeilPryde are quick to tell us was developed alongside BMW - make this bike a steal at just over £1000.
Hargroves
The culture of fixed or single speed may have had its hayday, but the simpler and much more convenient method of gearing still has its fans, and Charge are still topping the list of fixie manufacturers
The Plug has become almost synonymous with single speed bikes over the years, and the Plug 2 - with the addition of drop brakes for those who don’t fancy riding fixed - will please experienced fixie riders and those of you who are thinking about trying it out.
Plus, Hargroves' 20% discount is a pretty tidy deal.
Wheelies
The Gore Windstopper is great for cool autumn rides. Don't stop reading just yet. Sure, thinking about cool autumnal evenings may sound a little pessimistic of us, but planning ahead is never a bad idea.
This jacket is great at keeping mild elements at bay, stores easily in a jersey pocket, and comes in plenty of colours and sizes.
Plus, look how cheap it's going over at Wheelies!
Decathlon
We're a road cycling website, not a road bike website. There are plenty of you out there who are riding city streets who really don't need carbon frames, drop handlebars, and uncomfortable racing seats.
Our man Dave Atkinson tested the Newark at the end of last year - battling Bath's bumper hills as well as rolling through busy city streets on it - and he was impressed.
Even at full price, Dave hailed the bike's value for money.
Chain Reaction Cycles
Have you discovered cyclocross yet? Well, if you want to give it a try this autumn, you'll need a set of wheels that'll do the job on mud, gravel, wet grass - i.e the kind of terrain that your road bike and its slick slim tyres simply won't manage.
The Raleigh Maverick will see you through weekend tours, a century rides and the daily commute. The Reynolds 520 Butted Chromo frame, light and strong chromo fork, and capacity to load large volume tyres will see you through anything the cyclocross season can throw at you.
Cycle Surgery
The perenially popular Specialized Allez has seen a nice hefty discount over at Cycle Surgery.
The UK's most popular bike usually sells out on reputation alone, and at under £500 we don't imagine this deal will be around for much longer.
Science in Sport
As the summer wears on, loads of us will be fighting the constant battle agianst heat and sweat to keep that much needed water inside of ourselves.
Fortunately Science in Sport's GO Hydro tablets can give you a big boost in that battle. Plus, they come in caffeinated cola, berry, and lemon flavour and contain electrolytes and sodium, making it even easier to stay hydrated.
The deal ends at the end of August, so get 'em while they're hot!
