PC Hipsta - He'd join the bicycle squad if they had the right bikes ...

Cop snapped at London demo denied hipster tag - but his cartoon alter ego ticks all the boxes

Remember the police officer pictured at a demonstration in London in May whose beard and carefully groomed moustache plus jaunty chequered cap earned him the nickname “hipster cop” – though he subsequently said he was nothing of the sort?

Well, the internet isn’t going to let anything like that spoil a good meme, and one of the more memorable and enduring is the PC Hipsta comic strip, where his cartoon alter ego gives his sardonic take on a variety of everyday policing situations - many involving bicycles and their riders.

So here’s the best of PC Hipsta’s take on cycling – there’s plenty more comic strips on the PC Hipsta Tumblr feed, including his advice to photographers, motorists and demonstrators, among others, as well as his views on the latest technology (and the retro kind - no prizes for guessing which he prefers). Enjoy.

Terrible. I can explain the last one: the bearded guy is holding some removable climbing gear for traditional climbing, in contrast to sport climbing where the safety bolts are fixed in the rock. For God's sake...!

I think they're great, personally. But what's he ever done on grit?
