British Cycling has issued a call for volunteers to help out at this month’s UCI Mountain Bike Cross-Country World Cup, which takes place at Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire, between April 23 and 25.
A number of roles are available, including Course Marshals, Event Management Support and – for those who want to get really close to the riders – Anti-Doping Chaperones.
As if the opportunity of being part of a World Cup event wasn’t incentive enough to volunteer, you also get a goodie bag including schwag from Buff, Giro and PowerBar and exclusive World Cup Crew clothing as well as a free family pass to the event itself.
Full details of the roles available and how to volunteer can be found here, and you can apply by emailing British Cycling.
As well as the World Cup racing itself, themselves, British Cycling says there is also a host of other events going on in and around Dalby during the weekend, and the line-up includes:
Friday
The town of Pickering plays host to the opening night of the world cup weekend with the Pro Sprint Eliminator, urban cross country racing in a 4X format
Saturday
Junior World Cup Racing followed by the Dalby Dare in which the public get their chance to ride the World Cup course.
Sunday
Elite men's and women's cross country racing in the opening round of the 2010 UCI Mountain Bike Cross-Country World Cup
Further information about the event, as well as details of how to obtain tickets, can be found here.
