Police in Edinburgh say that a 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault on a cyclist last Friday.
The incident, which happened under the Red Bridge near the Crew Toll roundabout on Ferry Road, left the 54-year-old male victim needing hospital treatment for wounds to his face.
Launching an appeal for information following the assault, Detective Constable Douglas Mogg commented: “This was a brutal and unprovoked attack on a cyclist who was using a marked cycle path and it has left the victim injured and badly shaken.”
The man who has been charged will appear in court at a later date, say Police Scotland.

No no no. Not unkind at all. Victim blaming perhaps (along with Tom_77) but certainly not unkind.
How's about, if you use active transport funding to fix a road it straightaway becomes default 20mph so everyone can use it in relative safety?
