As someone who used to work in Texas, the thing that surprises me the most about this story, is that they now have a bike shop. Ah... Austin, they're a bit different there.
Isn't Austin, like, the Portland of the south west US?
Big university, lots of government and white collar workers. Basically, it's the liberal part of Texas, but recalibrate your expectations for liberal to the Texas scale.
